we just renounced our belief in the wtbts 2 hors ago,but still love jehovah
by ko38 inafter reading ray franzs 2 books and much information on this site we did a search comparing wt qoutes and had a local elder soon to be circuit ovsr at our house and the funny thing was he was unaware of much of the early wts.he also expressed some doubts when he applied to be a ministerial servant and they sent him back a letter making him an elder.his wife was here and when we brought coc out she jumped up like a person on fire.
the elder asked where else could we go?so there is doubt amoung the elders for sure.
i have a sense of loss however cannot support a self proclaimed prophet that is contrary to scriptural teaching and associated with falsehood and bloodguilt.

Do you and your significant other share religious beliefs?
by MelbaToast insometimes, i think my husband is much more church oriented than i am.
i still get upset when i attend church, but lately he has been putting the push on me for us to go back to his church where he grew up in.
he would like to start taking our daughter so she has a somewhat structured religious belief.

My wife and I share the same believes and it gives us common ground, even when we differ on things. Our faith is the most important thing in our lives.
I don't want to push any type of belief on her.
If you do not teach her, someone else will and it probably will be something you do not like. If you do not give her instructions, how do you expect her to make a Choice later in life?
Every time we visit, there is a donation envelope in the pew and contribution box AND and offering plate.
Seem that you view the envelope, contribution box, and offering plate as something evil or at least an unwanted obligation. Some churches do put pressure on their members to contribute. Let your husband know that you do not care for that part, if the church he is going to is pressuring you into putting money in the plate. Perhaps the both of you can find a church you are more comfortable in that does not put the pressure on.
One thing on giving. Some people put the pressure on themselves when the plate is passed. The Lord wants a cheerful giver, not someone that is forced. So make sure it is the not you putting undue pressure on yourself.
The church we attend passes a plate, but no record of what one gives is kept. Unless it is over $250.00 and a name is attached. That is because the IRS requires a reciept for any gifts totalling over $250.00 given in one day to an organization for it to be counted on an individuals tax return.

Have to admit the local JW were smart about using QualComm Staduim. But than the local city council is not know for making the best decisions, especially when it comes to the use of the stadium.
Check out page 16 and 17 of this document (sorry not able to copy and paste the test). The council gave up 44 days of free usage of the staduim for construction work (wonder what the local Union thought about this) to the staduim.

When conventioneers come to the new American Bank Center they bring money. Gas stations, hotels, restaurants, downtown businesses and attractions like the Lexington and Aquarium all benefit.
If the JWs attending the convention are suppose to bring their food to the convention, you can scratch restaurants from this list.

Prince Says...............
by professor in"you can live forever (and that's a mighty long time) in paradise on earth!".
is he baptized yet?
it would get him a lot closer to being an ex-jw and then maybe we could talk to him here!

Prehaps Prince is in line to be on the GB or even the president of the Society. Than he can dictate what is right or wrong.

The ultimate JW presidential flip flop.
by BeelzeDub injehovah spoke to the current president of zambia while he was one of jehovah's witnesses and told him to get back into politics.
president mwanawasa: "i vowed never to associate myself with politics and that is why i joined the jehovah's witnesses," president mwanawasa said.
"but after seven years of abstinence, god spoke to me that you have not fulfilled the work i sent you in government for.

You can read the following at http://www.thezambian.com/government/presidents.aspx
Levy Patrick Mwanawasa was born on Sept. 3, 1948 in Mufulira, Zambia. He was the 2nd born child in a family of 10.
He holds a law degree from the University of Zambia. He worked in private law firms from 1974 until 1978 when he formed his own firm Mwanawasa & Company. In 1985, Mwanawasa served as Solicitor General of the Republic of Zambia but went back to private practice the following year. He worked as senior partner in this firm until March 1992 when he was named as Vice President of Zambia in December 1991.
On Dec. 8, 1991, Mwanawasa while on duty was involved in a nasty road traffic accident in which his aide died on the spot. He suffered multiple body injuries. He was flown to Johannesburg South Africa for medical treatment. He remained in hospital for 3 months.
Mwanawasa served as Vice President of Zambia from 1991 until 1994 when he resigned citing gross abuse of office and corruption by some leaders and insubordination to him by some colleagues. In 1996, he contested presidency of MMD and lost. He retired from active politics again.
In August this year, the National Executive Committee elected Mwanawasa as its presidential candidate for the 2001 elections. He won the election, beating 10 other candidates including two former vice presidents.
Mwanawasa is married to Maureen and they have four children ? Chipokota, Matolo, Lubona and Ntembe. He also has two other children Miriam and Patrick from his first marriage. His wife is a baptized member of the Jehovah?s Witnesses.

How do the people who run the WTBTS Society view the Org.?
by formerout inquite often when reading some of the topics and posts i see comments about how all the big-wigs at the wtbts care only about the printing company, etc.
i have been accused of being a little too naive or trusting in the past, but i tend to think that even a lot of the higher-ups in the kh's and even at bethel believe that it is in fact the one true religion.
i tend to believe that a very small percentage of them figure that it's just a way to make money, etc.. what do you think?

Remember that Gorbachev kept his personal opinions to himself all the way to his rise to the top. Then he promptly dismantled the Communist machine.
Sounds like Joseph Rutherford. He did not dismantle the WTS, but he sure sent it off on another track.

I agree. Most follow it because of faith, not money.
Sometimes money is not the motivator. In reading post through out this sight it appears that power and prestage is the higher facter.

Is Jesus Christ and Michael the ArchAngel one and the same person?
by booker-t ini must admit that as a jw i never really swallowed this belief maybe because i was so young when i was really a staunch jw.
i would have born-again christians tell me that it was impossible for jesus and michael to be the same person and that jw's invented this doctrine.
fast forward to 2004 while i was reading a book on jesus i noticed that some of the early church fathers thought michael was jesus christ i almost fell out of my chair.

What is the diefference between an angel and an archangel as WTS teaches?
Does the WTS teach that Jesus was Michael coming to earth 2000 years ago?
If they do, does the WTS teach that Michael is the same today as he was before he was Jesus? If not how is he different?
